Senedd Member Joel James MS, has today shared that Rhydycar West has finally been granted planning permission for their world-class sport and leisure resort.
Nestled in the valley opposite Merthyr Tydfil, Rhydycar West now hopes to build the UK’s longest indoor snow centre, a tropical indoor waterpark, a dynamic indoor and outdoor adventure centre, a luxury hotel, and woodland lodges.
A few months ago, Joel was able to visit the site and have a tour with key members of the team, learning about plans for construction, employment, tourism and benefits to the local economy.
Speaking about the recent update and his visit to the site, Joel said:
It was great to see that Rhydycar West was finally granted planning permission last week - it's a phenomenal opportunity for the area.
A few months ago, I visited the site, just outside Merthyr, to see at first-hand the scale of the development being proposed and the benefits that it could bring - not to mention discuss what will be done to protect the environment.
All in all, I think this is going to be absolutely fantastic.
