Joel James MS, Senedd Member for South Wales Central, visited the Cardiff Foodbank warehouse on Titan Road this week.
During his visit, he met with the Cardiff campaign team and discussed their plans to support residents in the coming months. Their initiatives include advocating for flexible bus tickets and promoting the use of non-branded school uniform essentials.
Joel also learned about the reasons residents are relying on food banks, particularly concerns regarding Universal Credit payments and how they often fall short of covering essential needs.
Speaking about the visit, Joel said:
I was really grateful to have been recently invited to visit Cardiff Foodbank, and to see at first-hand the work they are doing to support some of the city's most-at-need residents.
It was also an opportunity to meet with the foodbank's campaign team and to learn more about the reasons why residents in Cardiff are turning to them.
I'm keen to continue helping them in any way that I can, and if you'd like to know more about the work that they are doing, please do get in contact.
