Yesterday, Joel James MS, who represents South Wales Central in the Welsh Parliament, attended a charity coffee morning hosted by Adrian Robson and Jayne Cowan, the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Cardiff.
The coffee morning was the first event hosted by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress since their official chain of office ceremony in the County Hall on Thursday 22nd May.
This year, the Lord Mayor has decided to fundraise for two charities. The first is the Forget-Me-Not-Chorus, which brings the joy of singing to people living with dementia and those who support them by organising signing sessions. The second is The Rescue Hotel which is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting the dogs at Cardiff Dogs Home and helps to improve the lives of rescue dogs.
The event, hosted at The Pantmawr Inn raised more than £400 and was a brilliant first event as the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Cardiff.
Speaking about the coffee morning, Joel said:
It was so great to join Adrian Robson and Jayne Cowan, the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Cardiff for their charity coffee morning yesterday.
They are using their year to raise money for two fantastic Cardiff-based charities - Cardiff Dogs Home - The Rescue Hotel and Forget-me-not Chorus.
