Joel James MS for South Wales Central was thrilled to attend the Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Show on the 10th August in Penllyn. After a two-year wait, Joel was glad to see the show back to celebrate its 250th year.
The Show was a great opportunity to showcase the best of rural life in the Vale of Glamorgan, and he was pleased to see so many attend and celebrate our agricultural communities. Joel was particularly interested to see a display of a sheep dog herding ducks. Joel was also glad to meet so many residents and those who work in the agricultural industry to hear their concerns especially during the abnormally hot weather which has seen an unhealthy lack of rainfall.
Speaking after the Show, Joel said:
‘Although the Vale Show was a fantastic display of the best of our agricultural industry, we must be fully aware of the challenges farmers are facing due to the abnormal weather conditions affecting the Vale of Glamorgan’. Joel hopes that the Welsh Government will support farms during this weather to ensure livelihoods are protected.
