Former Senedd Member, Joel James, elected to represent Llantwit Fardre and Efail Isaf on RCT Council.
The election, which took place yesterday, saw Joel re-elected to his home-seat with nearly 58% of the vote, and represented the culmination of a successful campaign, which leaves the local Conservatives with a good platform on which to contest next year's local elections.
Commenting after the count, Joel James said,
I'm absolutely delighted to be re-elected to my home ward of Llantwit Fardre on RCT Council - a seat that I represented from 2008-2022.
It was great to once again be on the doorsteps, talking and listening to residents and I hope that I'm able to repay the trust they have shown me.
I really have to thank everyone who has supported me during the election campaign and I want to pay tribute to my new ward colleague Cllr Karl Johnson - the work he's been doing has been phenomenal and is one of the main reasons for last night's vote.
