Joel James MS, who represents South Wales Central in the Welsh Parliament, recently celebrated Apprenticeship Week 2026 at the Welsh Parliament.
Joel attended an Apprenticeships Fayre organised by ColegauCymru and the National Training Federation, which transformed the Parliament into an interactive showcase featuring exhibition stands and live activities.
Joel had the opportunity to participate in hands-on tasks, such as virtual welding, vehicle body repair and refinishing, as well as watching model aircraft demonstrations and other practical skill displays. These activities showcased the wide range of apprenticeship pathways available across Wales.
Members of the Senedd also had the chance to meet apprentices, their employers, and training providers, allowing them to learn first hand about the skills, technologies, and industries in which apprentices are involved.
Speaking after the event, Joel said:
It was brilliant to recently celebrate Apprenticeships Week at the Welsh Parliament and learn more about courses taking place right across South Wales Central.
Apprenticeships play a vital role in developing skills and careers across Wales, so it was great to connect with apprenticeship providers, learn about apprenticeship opportunities, and celebrate the success of apprenticeships in Wales.
