With the Welsh Parliament now dissolved, former Senedd Member Joel James attended a hustings event at Maggie's in Whitchurch, allowing audience members to hear more about Joel's views and Welsh Conservative Party policies ahead of the upcoming Senedd elections.
Organised by Maggie's and Macmillan, Joel joined candidates from Welsh Labour, the Green Party, Plaid Cymru, and Reform to answer questions from the audience.
The event also provided an important opportunity for Senedd Election candidates in the Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf constituency to hear directly from people affected by cancer in Cardiff and surrounding areas, as well as professionals working in cancer, about what is important to local constituents in improving cancer treatment and care.
Speaking after the event, Joel said:
It was so great to take part in my first hustings of the campaign today at Maggie's Centres in Cardiff organised by Macmillan Cymru Wales.
It’s clear Wales needs a cancer strategy and under Welsh Labour, Wales is the only country in the UK without one.
The Welsh Conservatives will deliver one and fix our Welsh NHS.
