We need a Welsh Government that supports the deaf community and ensures proper facilities are provided. I had the opportunity in June 2022 to highlight the issues facing the deaf community in the Senedd chamber and raise awareness of the hidden issues deaf people face in the NHS, employment and in their social lives.
The Welsh Government is yet to give deaf people in Wales the same opportunities as many have in England. I call on the Welsh Government to recognise the British Sign Language Act in its entirety, and take on full reporting duties
