Should It Be Banned?

In January, the House of Lords backed a move to ban under-16s in the UK from social media platforms.

The move, similar to that of Australia's, which looked to ban under-16s from 10 major platforms, has been met with a mixed reaction.

Whilst the links between children having access to social media and its impact on their mental health are well known, some have argued that a ban goes too far and instead are in favour of stronger enforcement of existing child safety rules.

The UK Government’s consultation will run for 3 months and will look at the merits of options such as a ban for under 16s, overnight curfews, and age checks, amongst others.

But what are YOUR thoughts?

Do you believe social media should be banned for under 16’s?
