Despite Cardiff Council sitting on nearly £190 million in financial reserves, they’ve decided to sell Mansion House in Cardiff due to underuse and a maintenance backlog.
The loss of this historic building for the city is another example of the council's disregard for the city's cultural and civic heritage, with St David’s Hall being another notable example.
Mansion House was the official residence of Cardiff's Lord Mayors until 1971, and has hosted notable figures such as King George V, Winston Churchill and Nelson Mandela. Do you believe the building should be sold?
