Cardiff Local Development Plan

Cardiff Council is currently consulting on its Replacement Local Development Plan (LDP) for 2021 to 2036. This plan outlines how Cardiff will be developed over the next 15 years, identifying specific areas for new development while protecting others.

An 8-week public consultation period began in February and will close on the 15th April 2025. During this time, residents are encouraged to provide feedback on the proposed candidate sites for development.

The Replacement Local Development Plan will impact communities across Cardiff, both positively and negatively. It is crucial the Council choose the appropriate sites for development, considering factors such as flood plains, local services, and schools to ensure that houses are built in suitable locations.
